are you kidding me??

So why is it that if your child has a bag of crackers and starts to dump them, as soon as you say 'no' or something, they start shaking the bag?? 'Must get all food on floor before mom gets here' But then we stop and take a breather, and realize it isn't that big of a deal. I mean it takes two minutes to clean up. Sweep/vacuum DONE! So why is it that we get frustrated and upset when they do this? (or maybe you are a perfect parent and don't get upset.) Actually today it was funny cause it was done twice with two different foods in two piles in a couple minutes. And I was very calm and didn't make a big deal of it. Even though they had just finished breakfast and got down from the table. I thought it might be a precursor to the rest of my day. But then I just thought, 'oh well, the floor needs to be swept anyway.' Kids, they are great, but could we please not grab all the food off the pantry shelves just because the doors are open. Or maybe I (being the parent and responsible adult) should keep the pantry doors closed even if I am just going back to it in a minute. HUH.

  1. Ahh this drives me nuts! It always seems to happen right when I get something clean. On Saturday I had just swept and mopped the floor when Lilly and the kids decided to get themselves some leftover rice and noodles. I went in the kitchen and found sticky rice everywhere along with noodles covered in parmesan cheese. Nothing like cleaning up sticky noodles and rice!
